Skin Treatments Aftercare Advice: Microneedling, Peels & Dermaplaning
Aftercare For Microneedling Treatments
Sun Exposure Precautions
Post-treatment, your skin is particularly sensitive and more prone to sunburn. It's crucial to protect your skin with care:
Sunscreen is Essential: Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30 every day, irrespective of the weather. Even on overcast days, UV rays can penetrate and affect your skin.
Regular Reapplication: It's important to reapply sunscreen frequently throughout the day to ensure continuous protection.
Added Vigilance: For the initial month following treatment, we recommend using a sunscreen with SPF 50 to shield the regenerating skin and secure the best outcomes.
Post-Treatment Makeup Guidelines
Allow your skin a 24-hour respite from makeup after the skin needling session. Should you need to apply makeup subsequently:
Selective Choices: Select non-comedogenic products
Clean Application: Always utilise clean applicators to avoid introducing bacteria to sensitive areas.
Managing Water Temperature
Hot water can be detrimental to rejuvenating skin, removing essential oils and impeding the healing process.
Refrain from hot showers or baths for at least 24 hours post-treatment to permit the treatment serum to fully penetrate and take effect.
Avoid Touching or Picking at the Skin
Your hands harbour numerous microbes that could lead to infection.
Refrain from touching the treated area to avoid disturbing the healing process.
Do not pick - picking at the skin can result in scarring and impede recovery.
Heat and Exercise
Intense heat and perspiration can aggravate freshly needled skin.
Avoid saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzis, and vigorous exercise for at least 24 hours.
Hydrate Your Skin
Moisturising plays a vital role in the healing process.
Moisturiser Selection: Choose a safe, fragrance-free moisturiser or serum that is compatible with your skin type.
Consistent Application: Regularly apply your chosen product to encourage skin rejuvenation and maintain hydration
